After a week’s delay due to the massive swell that hit Bali’s shores last weekend, the first of the five Grom Patrol Camp and Comps scheduled for 2020 will be starting off this Friday, July 24th to the delight of the kids and their parents who have signed up and are ready to go.

This weekend’s Camp is almost full and the Comp is full with 20 participants. But there are four more chances to get in on the fun, with 31 July – 2 August, 7-9 August, 14-16 August, and 21-23 August still having spots available.

So sign up now at

Tomorrow afternoon (Thursday) at 4:00 pm there will be a technical meeting held at Kosta Hostel Berawa to ensure that all rules and protocols as well as the schedule for both the Comp and the Comp are given and understood, as well as the judging criteria for the different divisions, so all are encouraged to attend.

The weekend’s activities will officially begin on Friday, with the participants asked to arrive at Kosta Hostel Berawa at 8pm to check in and receive any new information, before heading to the beach at 9 am.  Beach location will be called depending upon which beach has the most suitable wave conditions for the weekend.

While at the beach, those joining the Camp will be under the supervision of Bali Elite Surf Coaching (BESC) where ISA certified surf coaches Dylan Amar and Mustofa Jeksen will be providing the training and instruction, assisted by Bali’s best up and coming pro surfers including Ketut Agus, Rio Waida, Kailani Johnson, Dhea Natasya, Diah Rayahu Dewi, and others.

For those joining the Comp only, official Grom Patrol videographers will be there to film them smashing out down their best waves, and the BESC team will be filming the Comp participants during their training, which will be reviewed later in the evening back at Kosta Hostel Berawa.
