7 September 2022, Bali-Indonesia:  The Asian Surf Cooperative is excited to announce that the fourth annual Tipi Jabrik’s Grom Patrol Surf Competition supported by Vans Indonesia and Mamaka by Ovolo will be held at Halfways Kuta Beach on 17-18 September.

Always eagerly anticipated by the many up-and-coming young surfers here in Bali and beyond,  the Grom Patrol offers four age groups of competition for both boys and girls; Under 16, Under 14, Under 12, and Under 10, with two full days on Kuta Beach that includes fun games and prizes from Vans and goodies from other event supporters to make for a fantastic weekend.

New for this year’s Grom Patrol Surf Competition will be a live webcast by Asian Sports Broadcasting, so friends and family and surfing fans around the world can tune in and watch Bali’s best grom surfing action from wherever they are.  And as the event is being held over two days, it is expected that there could be up to 100 groms participating in this year’s Grom Patrol, and many of them will no doubt compete in more than one division.

This year’s event is supported by Vans Indonesia, who are delighted by the opportunity to assist the ASC in growing the sport of surfing.   “We’re very excited to support the Grom Patrol, as we believe that there are many kids who have lots of ability and enthusiasm and who want to participate in the sport of surfing, but were hampered by the pandemic,” said Fabiandi, Vans Indonesia’s Head of Marketing Communications & Retail Brand Marketing.  “Vans will continue to strive and become a platform to support extreme sports such as surfing, which is one of the four pillars of Vans. By supporting the Grom Patrol, we hope that we can discover more talented children who can contribute to the advancement of the sport of surfing so it can become known to more people in Indonesia,” he explained.

ASC’s Tipi Jabrik added, “Grom Patrol is the only junior surfing development event for Under 16’s that exists now in this region, and our focus is on using it as a tool to create and develop new talent, so with the support of our great partners we’re excited to put on this fun event, and looking forward to seeing all those talented groms mixing it up over this two day event.”

Mamaka by Ovolo is also an avid supporter of Indonesia’s surfing community, having sponsored the Bali Pro WQS and the Liga Surfing Indonesia earlier this year, and are now further contributing to junior surfing by supporting the Grom Patrol.

To make for an even more fun weekend, Mamaka is offering a special room rate that includes breakfast for 2 plus 2 signature cocktails (for the adults) at their new Kuta Social Club on the Rooftop, so follow this link to make your Grom Patrol weekend complete, staying just just steps away from Halfways on Kuta Beach.  https://ovolohotels.com/mamaka/checkout/#?promocode=GROM

All participants will receive gift packs, a Grom Patrol T-shirt and lunch each day, and the finalists in all divisions will also receive prizes.
