16 November, 2023 – Kuta, Bali: The Asian Surf Cooperative (ASC) and Persatuan Selancar Ombak Indonesia (PSOI) are excited to announce that this year’s Liga Surfing Indonesia Grand Final 2023 will be held at Kuta Beach from 22-24 November with PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMMAN) as the title sponsor, BINTANG Crystal as the presenting sponsor, and Mamaka by Ovolo and IDP DFS as supporting sponsors. There will be a live broadcast each day by Asian Surf Broadcasting, allowing the worldwide surfing audience to enjoy this exciting boardriders competition via the ASC’s YouTube and Facebook channels, and tune in to the LSI Instagram @ligasurfingindonesia for further details.
14 of Indonesia’s best surfing clubs will be bringing their top performing surfers to Bali from as far away as Sumatra and West Sumbawa to join in the Grand Finals for this 3rd annual event, which promised to both entertain and impress during the 3 full days of competition at world famous Halfway Kuta Beach. To qualify for participation in the event, each club had a requirement to run 5 of their own club events, after which the club and its top 4 surfers in each division are eligible to participate in this LSI Grand Final 2023.
Competition divisions include Men’s and Women’s Shortboard and Longboard, Masters, Junior, Under 10, and Club Challenge, with the winners and finalists receiving trophies, cash and prizes from event sponsors, and along with the prestige of being an LSI Champion.
“We are very excited for this year’s LSI event, as it showcases the best of our growing boardriders club’s talents” said ASC’s Tipi Jabrik. “This year we are also grateful for our new supporter AMMAN as the title sponsor, and returning sponsors BINTANG Crystal and Mamaka, as well as new supporting sponsor DFS. Together with the sanctioning and support of the PSOI, and of course all the participating surf clubs, this will be an amazing event, and we’re very proud to be able to broadcast it live so everyone can enjoy it,” he added.
Although a first time sponsor of the Liga Surfing Indonesia Grand Final, AMMAN has been supporting the surfing community in their home base of West Sumbawa (KSB) for several years now, and are delighted with the opportunity to support the LSI Grand Final 2023.
AMMAN’s Vice President of Social Impact, Priyo Pramono, expressed that AMMAN’s support in the Liga Surfing Indonesia Grand Final underscores the company’s commitment to nurturing young Indonesian talents and promoting sustainable tourism through surfing. “AMMAN recognizes the significance of sports in unlocking the full potential of young talents. As one of Indonesia’s leading copper and gold mining companies, this initiative shows AMMAN’s dedication to fostering the surfing sport in KSB, leveraging the region’s abundant supportive resources.”
The presenting sponsor’s Bintang name is synonymous with Bali for both locals and tourists alike, and as the most widely recognized Indonesian beer brand in the world is dedicated to supporting the growth of surfing in their home country.
“BINTANG Crystal is thrilled to continue our support for the Indonesian surfing community through Liga Surfing Indonesia,” said Jessica Setiawan, Marketing Director of Multi Bintang Indonesia. “As Indonesia’s favourite beer with the core value of Berbeda Bersama, we are committed to supporting local communities and talents, and are excited to see Indonesia’s best surfers from across the country compete and have fun together.”
Mamaka by Ovolo has a prime spot overlooking Kuta Beach, and has been strong supporter of surfing events including Tipi Jabrik’s Grom Patrol, Liga Surfing Indonesia and World Surf League Qualifying Series events, and the recent Rip Curl GromSearch, ever since opening in 2021. “We’re committed to supporting surfers and the surfing community here in Bali, as surfing is an integral part of our core value system and provides a lot of benefits to all involved, so we’re honored to be a sponsor of the Liga Surfing Indonesia Finals again this year,” said General Manager Joel Bartlett.
The ASC welcomes new supporting sponsor DFS this year, with Milan Rabold, the General Manager of IDP DFS Indonesia explaining their desire to be involved in the event saying, “At IDP DFS we are dedicated to supporting local events and communities, and as surfing is deeply ingrained in the local culture and draws visitors to Bali from around the world, this reflects our belief in the power of sports to unite communities and inspire individuals to reach their full potential. Join us as we celebrate the spirit of surfing and its ability to connect people and cultures at the LSI Grand Final 2023.”
The AMMAN Liga Surfing Indonesia Grand Final 2023 presented by Bintang Crystal will start off at Kuta Beach at approximately 7:30 am on Wednesday November 22nd. There will be 3 full days of competition capped off by an Awarding Presentation at Mamaka by Ovolo’s Rooftop on 24 November starting at 7:00 pm.
