REnextop announces REnextop Asian Surfing Tour (RAST) Stop #2 at Shizuoka, Japan from 7-9 September

16 August 2017:  Bali, Indonesia. REnextop, together with the Asian Surfing Championships (ASC) announces the 2nd stop of the RAST Tour coming to scenic Shizunami Beach in Makinohara, Shizuoka-Japan from 7-9 September.

Makinohara is located in South-Central Shizuoka Prefecture, bordered by the Suruga Bay of the Pacific Ocean to the East, and rises gradually to the Makinohara Plateau in the West. The area has a temperate maritime climate, characterized by hot, humid summers and mild winters, with the warm Kuroshio Current offshore providing a moderating effect to the ocean temperature, which is generally around 25-27 degrees Celsius

Wave size averages between 1 and 1 meters at this stretch of beachbreak, which offers both rights and lefts that are great for both shortboard and longboard surfers.

As an added bonus, you can see beautiful Mount Fuji from the water as you surf!

REnextop is assisted in organizing this event by the Makinohara government.

There are many Japanese traditional guest homes and hotels in Makinohara, and if you need assistance with accommodations please contact Tianxiang at REnextop via email at

According to REnextop CEO Lillian Chen, “After the announcement of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics that includes surfing, this RAST#2 event is the first international surfing contest to be held in Makinohara. I think a lot of Asian surfers have yet to surf much in Japan, so we hope they can come to this event, meet local surfers and have a great time surfing here.  This will all help increase the communication between the local surfers and other Asian countries to progress Asia’s surfing culture, communication, and development.”

For RAST #2 there will be four divisions of competition:  Men’s Shortboard, Men’s Longboard, Women’s Shortboard, and Women’s Longboard.

Men’s Divisions will be limited to 32 in the Longboard Division and 32 in the Shortboard Division; Women’s Division competitors are limited to 16 competitors in the Longboard and 16 in the Shortboard.

Total prize money for the event will be $12,600 USD, with $3,800 each for Men’s Shortboard and Longboard, and $2,500 each for Women’s Shortboard and Longboard.
